      Fish Tale Diner, Salisbury, Massachusetts

This diner was built for the Galanis family (a family with a long and distinguished history in the diner business) by the Worcester Lunch Car Company in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1940: Diner number 762.

It was operated as the Agawam Diner in Depot Square in Ipswich, Massachusetts, from 1940 to 1947.  It was replaced by a larger diner in 1947, and at that time it was returned to the Worcester Lunch Car Company for remodeling.  After being remodeled, it was operated as the Agawam Diner on Route 1 at Route 133 in Rowley, Massachusetts from 1949 to 1970, when it was once again replaced by a larger diner.

It has been operated as the Fish Tale Diner on the waterfront at Bridge Marina off Route 1 in Salisbury, Massachusetts, since 1970. Serving Breakfast and Lunch, it is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday. Eat inside or on the open air patio/deck overlooking the Marina and the Merrimack River. (see directions to Bridge Marina).

Altough the typical eggs/sausage/bacon/potatoes are always GREAT at the Fish Tale, I recommend the hand made Belgium Waffels during the week or the Eggs Benedict on the weekends for Breakfast (there is also an IRISH Eggs Benedict).  For Lunch you can't beat the Haddock Sandwich or any of the specials. Hidden are the GREAT Burgers also available. No matter what you order for Lunch, you must have a cup (or bowl) of their Fish Chowder......one of the very BEST around !

We can NOT gaurantee dockage for your party to visit the Fish Tale Diner but we will make every effort to find you an appropriate dockage to enjoy this very special place. Come by and ask the attendant at the "fuel dock" for space to tie-up....we can usually find temporary space to accomadate your needs.
